Make a Chanel-Style Jacket
A Chanel-style jacket is a powerful piece that has stood the test of time, and 70 years later there are no age restrictions to its wearability. A well-made Chanel-style jacket is a great investment in your wardrobe because of its versatility—you can dress it up, or dress it down, and you’ll always have a classic look. The best kept secret of all is that it’s a perfect first-time jacket project because it’s really not that difficult to make!
Make a Wrap Dress
Modern wrap dresses were popularized by designer Diane von Furstenberg in the 1970s and have remained in style ever since. They are comfortable, stylish, flattering for every figure, and appropriate for most occasions. Most wrap dress patterns are easy to customize with your choice of fabric, sleeve length and bodice style to create a look that is all your own.
Beginner Draping | 1-Day Intensive
Have you always wanted to know how to create your own patterns that fit perfectly? Fashion designers often use a process called “draping” to create perfectly fitted patterns on the dress form. They drape a muslin fabric over a dress form and pin it into place, gently manipulating the fabric around the form. Once the fabric is draped, the key measurements and fit lines are marked to record the basic pattern shape.
Intermediate Draping | 1-Day Intensive
Do you have some basic knowledge of draping and wish to know more? If you have draped basic patterns for a bodice, skirt or dress then you are ready to learn how to add design lines and create a variety of garment styles. Working with the techniques learned in the Mood U Beginner Draping Class (or any other beginner draping class), students will explore new techniques to add to their repertoire of draping skills.
